The Carnegie Library is located at 314 McLeod Street. Before the library was opened in 1906, a library was in the upstairs of the Cort Hotel. Later in 1909 the library was in the council rooms. The building of the library began in 1913. The architects were JC Link and CS Haire. Money for the building was donated by Andrew Carnegie.
